Outlandish @ Hysten Festival

Saturday, June 19, Outlandish headlined this year's Hysten festival in Odder a small town in Denmark (south of Aarhus).

Denmark's national football team had a match against Cameroon at the FIFA 2010 World Cup, the same evening, the match was aired on a big screen which made the festival a good place for Danes to gather and support their team while enjoying some live performances from their favorite artists.

According to a poll by the Hysten Festival, our Moros were the most requested band followed by Johnny Deluxe then Black City at the 3rd place.

Other performers included Thomas Buttenschøn, Dj Encore, Four Snacks, Haze, Phoofer, Symfonia and Via Nova. Danish star Medina was going to headline the festival but was replaced by Outlandish.

[Sunday Classics] Reviving The Outland Classics #2

This Sunday we decided to go back to Outlandish' first US tour, it was an amazing experience both for the guys and the fans. Outland performed in big cities like New York, Tampa, Chicago and Los Angeles.. the concerts are available on DVD by Mas Youth (the organizer). Luckily 'Mas' also decided to put some videos from the tour on Youtube for viewers worldwide. Elmoro's vid from the Tampa concert caught our attention as an outstanding Outland Classic so we're sharing it here today:

[Sunday Classics] Reviving The Outland Classics #1

Sunday Classics is a series of posts we're going to publish (hopefully) every Sunday to revive some of the best Outlandish performances of all time.

As a fan this series will be an occasion for you to enjoy some amazing OL performances that you may have never seen before, or [in case you've already seen them] the posts should help you cherish the memories the videos will bring back. So it's all good!

This Sunday, we'll go back to 2006, more exactly to Outlandish' performance at DRs Store Juleshow in Denmark where the band, backed by a full orchestra, did a mind blowing performance of their hit song Aicha followed by a medley of I Only Ask Of God and Bon, a song by Norwegian singer Herborg Kråkevik.

Outlandish @ Mawazine Festival 2010

Last Wednesday (May 26th) Outlandish had one of their biggest concerts to date in Rabat (Morocco) at Mawazine Festival.

Mawazine Festival is the biggest World Music festival in the region, this year's edition featured artists from more than 50 country, staring from 21st to May 29th, the festival is expected to host more than 100 concerts on 8 stages, each night different artists perform simultaneously on each stage. Outlandish' concert started at the same time as some big stars concerts such as Elton John and Wael Jassar, but the boys still managed to attract a huge crowd of more than 35.000 people. According to both fans and OL it was a great night!! The concert also was a good place for DJ Kato and Outlandish to shoot a part of their coming music video for their collaboration song "Desert Walk".

While in Morocco Outlandish appeared on many local and international media here's some:

  • Outlandish on Medi1Sat (interview + footage from the concert and soundchek) Follow the link http://bit.ly/aFFtWR then click the second video "Capsule", OL part starts at the 3rd minute.
  • A preview of the Outlandish concert on 2M TV, http://bit.ly/9Qmln5 (OL appears at around 2:35 minutes)
  • Outlandish on 2M TV (interview + some live Mawazine concert footage) http://bit.ly/aGKN8n (OL appears around 28:50 minutes)
Some pictures from the concert can be found here and here.

Unfortunately there's no good quality videos from the concert available for the moments (we're still looking for them) but here's a fan recorded video for your enjoyment:
